Communication is the cornerstone of success for any business. The ability to convey information to the target audience in a way that is easy to follow and understand is key to a company's future. Clear, concise communication between a company and its clients, staff, and suppliers ensures that all parties know what is expected. It enhances staff participation, support and satisfaction, and allows for quick response in a crisis situation.

It makes no difference whether the communique is verbal, visual or written, the same golden rule applies. Keep it simple, clear and free of ambiguous statements. Visual communication is especially open to interpretation - it is vital that the imagery used portrays just the right message to the target audience. For example, a teen generation and a seniors generation will probably not interpret visuals in quite the same manner. Chances are you will get two extremely different opinions from these two groups. There is also the ethnic variables to consider, a simple shape may have a culturally different meaning in Bulgaria than it would in North America.

A communications specialist has the skills, knowledge and training required to perform audience analysis and determine the appropriate path to reach the target audience.
